Low renewal free zones are the quiet winners of UAE company formation. Year-1 prices get the marketing budget; year two is where zones recover it. Our evidence base holds renewal figures for six zones, and the spread is striking: SPC renews at AED 11,720 — 11% below its Year-1 price — while IFZA renews at AED 17,100, a 15% step-up over its own Year 1.
The ratio column matters more than the absolute number. A renewal below Year 1 means the zone priced honestly upfront; a step-up means the entry price was partly a teaser. Both patterns are documented below, on evidence.

How we rank low renewal free zones
Nobody advertises renewal prices, which is precisely why we rank them. Two dimensions dominate: the absolute evidenced renewal cost, and the renewal-to-Year-1 ratio — the number that exposes teaser pricing. Only zones with researched renewal figures are ranked at all. Weights below sum to 100%. The full dimension definitions, evidence tiers and update cadence are documented on our free zone ranking methodology page.

Major strength: Fully transparent official pay-as-you-go fee schedule with a complete evidenced 3-year total. Which zones were eligible?
Eligible: SPC Free Zone, Creative City Fujairah, RAKEZ, IFZA, Ajman Free Zone and Hamriyah — the six zones with evidenced renewal figures (exact for the first four’s headline packages, indicative ranges for the rest). Every other researched zone answers ‘quote-based’ on renewals, which makes them unrankable here by definition — and tells you something in itself. DMCC’s estimated AED 22,000–26,000 renewal is noted in the FAQ. This is why low renewal free zones deserve their own table instead of a footnote.
