UAE Visa Status Change — What Is It?
A UAE visa status change (also called “Status Adjustment”) allows someone already in UAE on one visa type to switch to another without leaving the country. Common scenarios:

- Employment visa to investor visa (leaving employer job to start own company)
- Dependent visa to investor visa (dependent spouse starting own company)
- Visit visa to employment visa (being hired by a UAE company while visiting)
UAE In-Country Status Change — How It Works
- Your new sponsor (your free zone, for investor visa) submits a status change application
- Immigration processes status change and issues a new entry permit with the new visa type
- Medical test and Emirates ID process follows (same as new visa)
- Your old visa is formally cancelled; new visa is stamped
