There are several ways to obtain a UAE business visa. Here is the complete 2025 guide to UAE business visas β€” from short-term visitor visas to long-term residence visas through business ownership.

UAE 30-Day Business Visit Visa

For short business visits: the UAE 30-day or 90-day tourist/visit visa serves as the business visit visa. The UAE does not distinguish between tourist and business visit visa for entry purposes. A 30 or 90-day visitor visa allows you to: attend business meetings, sign contracts, visit free zones and government offices, conduct due diligence on UAE business opportunities. You CANNOT conduct paid work in the UAE on a visitor visa. If you intend to work in the UAE (even remotely for a UAE client), you need a proper UAE residence visa and work permit.

UAE Investor / Establishment Residence Visa

UAE free zone company owners can apply for an investor visa (also called establishment visa or shareholder visa). Requirements: valid UAE free zone company, paid-up capital as per free zone requirements, minimum capital varies by free zone (IFZA: AED 10,000, DMCC: USD 50,000). Duration: 2 years (renewable). Process: apply through the free zone PRO team. Cost: AED 4,000-6,000 in government fees. The investor visa is the standard UAE residence visa for free zone company founders and shareholders.

UAE Employment Visa

For employees of UAE companies (mainland or free zone): employers can sponsor employment visas for their staff. Employment visa quota: UAE companies are allocated an employee quota based on their office size and licence category. A small office might receive 3-5 visa slots; larger offices get more. Employment visa cost: AED 3,000-5,000 per employee (employer-paid in most cases). UAE Labour Law: employees on UAE employment visas are covered by UAE labour law protections (annual leave, gratuity, etc.).
