UAE Multiple Entry Visa Types
Multiple-entry tourist visa (5 years): UAE launched a 5-year multi-entry tourist visa in 2020. Each entry: up to 90 days per visit. Total accumulated time: 180 days per year. Fee: approximately AED 650-800. Available to eligible nationalities. Multiple-entry business visa: available through UAE business sponsors. Allows multiple trips to the UAE for business purposes. Typically 6 months or 1 year duration. Each stay: up to 30 or 60 days per entry. GCC resident multiple-entry visa: residents of GCC countries (Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar) who hold valid residency visas in those countries can enter the UAE on multi-entry visas with specific conditions. Visa-on-arrival (for eligible nationalities): eligible nationalities receive an automatic visa on each entry (renewable each visit). Not technically a multi-entry visa but effectively functions as one.
Applying for a UAE Multiple Entry Visa
Applications: via the Federal ICP portal online (ica.gov.ae), through airlines operating to the UAE (Emirates, Etihad, flydubai all offer visa services), through GDRFA (for Dubai-specific multi-entry visas), and through registered UAE typing centres and travel agencies. Documents typically required: passport copy (minimum 6 months validity), passport-size photo, and proof of return travel or hotel booking (for some categories).
UAE Residence Visa vs. Multiple Entry Visa
A UAE residence visa (which comes with a UAE company or employment) already allows unlimited multiple entries. So: if you have a UAE residence visa: you do not need a multiple-entry tourist visa. If you only visit the UAE but do not reside: a multiple-entry tourist visa is the right product for frequent UAE visitors (businesspeople, family of residents, digital nomads not yet ready to set up a UAE company).
