Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get an investor visa if I have another employer visa?

No. You can only hold one UAE residency visa at a time. To move from an employer visa to an investor visa, you must first cancel the employer visa (and get a No Objection Letter if possible) and then apply for the investor visa through your free zone company.

How long can I stay outside the UAE without losing residency?

UAE investor visas can be cancelled if the holder stays outside the UAE for more than 6 months consecutively. To preserve your residency, you must enter the UAE at least once every 180 days. This rule does not apply to holders of the UAE Golden Visa (10-year).

Can I work for other companies on an investor visa?

Your investor visa allows you to work for your own free zone company. Working as an employee for a different company requires a separate employment visa or a concurrent employment permit. Consult a UAE immigration specialist for your specific situation.
