What is Dubai Knowledge Park?
DKP was established in 2003 as a knowledge and education free zone adjacent to Dubai Media City on Sheikh Zayed Road. It is managed by TECOM Group. DKP is home to 500+ educational institutions and human resources companies including: Harvard Business Publishing, London Business School (Dubai campus), Manchester Business School, INSEAD (Fontainebleau executive MBA sessions in Dubai), Middlesex University Dubai, and global training companies (Berlitz, CIPD, Dale Carnegie). DKP focuses on: professional training, higher education, HR management, e-learning, and corporate development.
DKP Regulation and Activities
DKP-licensed companies can conduct: professional training and development courses, corporate learning and development, higher education (requires KHDA/CAA approval for degrees), HR consulting, organisational development, leadership coaching, and education technology. DKP does NOT handle K-12 schools (those are managed by KHDA directly outside free zones). For professional training and executive education: DKP is the preferred UAE address because the ecosystem of peer institutions adds credibility.
DKP vs. Shams or IFZA for Training Companies
Non-accredited training (corporate workshops, professional coaching): IFZA or Shams work well at lower cost. Accredited training (recognised certificates, university-affiliated programmes): DKP is the preferred location (KHDA familiarity, institutional credibility). DKP costs: from AED 18,000-30,000/year. Higher than Shams but the DKP brand adds genuine value for education companies pitching to HR directors at large corporations.
